Hello everyone! This is a first for Pops so be easy. I sure do enjoy reading the stuff on here. It's a lot easier than sending multiple emails. I have lots of photo's for this weekend but once you have seen one lion you have seen them all or was that teat? I don't remember so it's new to me every time. How do you put a picture on this thing?

I hope this works! It sure takes a long time? It's hard to
believe that we were just in Africa.

Labor Day Weekend

We have rented a pontoon from the Ray Roberts Marina for Saturday, September 1st. We have it for 8 hours. Dad said he would have the malibu out, too. Does this work for everyone? Will you guys leave a comment whether or not you can come so that I know it will be worth the $$ to rent the boat? Is it ok for everyone to pitch in on the pontoon? It is not too late for me to cancel, so let me know what you all think.

Past Blasts

I had so much fun looking at the old pictures that Sara posted that I thought I would post some of my own. I will attempt some semblance of chronological order.

Here I am just moments after the birth of our first born. This was the moment that I said exuberantly, "It's a boy!" (Even though we all knew it before-hand.)

This is a video capture of Wyatt and Soren "bonding." I have always thought this was funny. It seems like Wyatt is trying to take the lime light.

Here is Wyatt toddling at Mom and Jim's house playing, of course, in the water. Notice the maternity shirt on Kara (that would be Ashton baking in the oven.)

We rode the train down to Medical City to watch the model trains and this picture was taken during the ride on the real train. Wyatt thought it was SO cool.

This picture was from one of Wyatt's first Christmases (that he remembers.) Merry Kick-Kiss!

I have always loved pictures of laughing even more than pictures of just smiling...and when it's your cute kid laughing, even better.

Here is "baked bun" baby girl Ashton at her Easter cutest.

This one is one of my favorite pictures of Ashton. You know what I say; "I am a champion baby sitter...when they are sleeping."

And though this picture is not very old yet, I had to post one of Parker. This was a brother and sister's first view of their baby brother.

To Grandmother's House We Go

Charlotte is home for a while so I am taking the girls up there tomorrow to see her. I will come home Thursday and the kids will stay with her for the weekend while Pete and I go to Arkansas.

When Mom and Dad get home we need to have a talk with them about checking in. They need a good spankin for this one. They could at least send a pigeon or a letter in a bottle or something.

What are the plans for Labor Day? Are we repeating last year or are we doing the lake? Can you get on the lake yet?

Happy Anniversary to Mat and Kara!

Today is Mat and Kara's 11th anniversary. Congratulations! Have fun celebrating this weekend.

Also, congratulations to Mat on finishing his class; I am sure that is a huge relief! Although I did not understand the gibberish that you posted on your blog I am sure it is very meaningful.

strange

yesterday I went upstairs and it was 87 degrees. Seeing as the thermostat was set on 80 I called the AC guy. What he discovered is really strange. Apparently there is a part on the outside unit that comes apart and goes together (?) and a brown recluse spider climbed in and made its nest there. The part could not make a connection and so I only had a fan. He said there was nothing wrong with the part and he just cleaned all of the spiders out of it and we are back in business. Crazy! Dumb spiders cost me 100 bucks. Now I need to have the yard sprayed, too. I think I will do that myself.

Yesterday morning I was loving on Reese, just like I do every morning (she is my cuddle baby) and she said "mom, I don't want kisses so much right now. On another morning you can kiss me all you want. But you can rub me like this (she took my hand and rubbed it on her arm) because your hands are soft." She is so accommodating!

Glad to hear that Danna and Trey are doing well. Not so excited that you like Denver so much, but we knew you would. We are really looking forward to your visit, too!

We're Still Here!

I love the blog and I look at it often. I have a lot of camping pics I want to post, but Trey has our computer so bogged down that the camera ran out of batteries before I could even get them on the computer! I will have Trey work on that so we can share our adventures with you.

We are absolutely loving Colorado! We go campng almost every weekend. Trey went out and bought a sleeping bag that is good for -20 degrees. (Yes that is a negative sign in front of that 20!) I told him he would be camping alone, but his friend Jeremy said that he would go with him. They are crazy.

Winter will be rolling around soon. I hope we get as much snow as we did last year. I'm planning on learning how to snow board. I have a lot of vacation time, so I will be taking a few days off in the middle of the week to get some good powder days in! Any one of you can join me any time.

We do more than just play though. Trey's job is stressful and he is having to put in a few long days to get back up to speed. My job is going well, it's not stressful at all and I have been putting in a few short days to make up for all the time Trey waists working!

Trey and I are also going to teach a financial peace class at our church soon. We are trying to be active in our church and Trey feels like this is his calling. Now that school is starting again, the youth will get back to meeting on Saturday nights. I'm going to start participating in youth activites, and build relationships with the young girls at the church. I want to be able to use my experiences to help others. That should start this week.

We will get those pictures out soon. Can't wait for our trip to Texas!

short cuts

Soren wanted to earn some money for a new toy, so I put her to work on the lawn. When we went to get the toy I had her get her hair cut short, and Reese too, because that makes MY life easier. And that is what matters, right?!
