Wyatt's Trophy

Today was the day that Camey Elementary recognized all the student who received awards at the recent UIL competition. This meant that Wyatt was honored with his third place trophy for storytelling. Read the complete write up of the competition here.

We were pleased to find out that Camey had the most top finishers of any school in The Colony. There were quite a few trophys on the stage to be given out.

Congratulations Wyatt! We are quite proud of our little scholar and hope to encourage more feats of mental strength in the future.

Thanks

Thank you, Pops and Nana, for the Valentine gifts! Pete is so excited to use our new scrapbook paper cutter :)

Reese used her Chick-fil-a card and even treated Soren and I. The total was exactly $10 and Reese asked the cashier if she could keep the card because it was from her Nana. So cute. Soren plans on using her card for breakfast Saturday morning. She gets to go stuff the packets for the Cowtown marathon and wants to get some chicken minis on the way.

Hope you all had a great day. Pete and I stayed true to our romantic tendencies. I got him a bike chain and he signed me up for my Galveston race (that was an expensive gift!). Charlotte laughed and described our gifts as "pure sex". I thought that was funny. She said I should wrap the bike chain around myself to give it to Pete. Too greasy.

Soren got creative and made gifts out of pipe cleaners. She did pretty good. They are neat. She even set her alarm and got up at 6 am to make mine. She is the sweetest.

Pictures from Kelvin in Africa

Hello everyone! I've attached some photos of the projects that Kelvin has completed. Kelvin asked if he could make some comments about the blog so if you see comments this is the Kelvin that all of you know. In the group picture, Kelvin is the second from the right with the hat and sleeveless shirt. I think he said that this is where he lives and these are some of his friends. If you want to email Kelvin it's Kelvin Mwangi mwasss@yahoo.com

Home Again

We have returned from an exceptional trip to Denver and the ski slopes.

THANK YOU so very much to Nana and Sara for taking on the incredible and tiring responsibility of our three children (and coughing ones at that!)

THANK YOU also to Trey and Danna for hosting us, feeding us and driving us.

I will post pictures after I catch up on two weeks worth of homework.

Recovering?

Zach is recovering (hopefully not still suffering?) from the flu. Avery and Jodi are recovering from colds, Granny is recovering from a cold/fever, Parker and Wyatt are recovering from coughs. What is the deal? Well, at least everyone got it at once and now we can all be well for the rest of the winter.

Oh, and Nana is recovering from 72+ hours of kid duty that included 4 kids, laundry, homework, laundry, packing lunches, laundry, picking up/dropping off at school, laundry, cleaning up throw up, laundry, LOTS of meals and cleaning of dishes, etc... As you know, it never ends with kids. The kids and I left her last night at 7 pm and she was still standing, and SMILING! Amazing. Thank you so very much, Nana. It is so comforting to know that our kids are with someone who will not only take care of them, but will do it lovingly. I hope you have a relaxing weekend.
