Pete's poor car

Pete was rear ended today. He is ok. His car is not.

Marlee's hand surgery

Marlee had surgery on her right hand yesterday to repair the tendons she severed on her index finger. There are 3 tendons and she severed 2 of them and cut 60% of the third. Yeah, she did it good. The doctor said it was a bad injury. She can't lift anything with that arm for 8 weeks and she will have lots and lots of physical therapy. The doctor wouldn't guarantee that she would get back full range of motion, but he said the physical therapy was crucial. The surgery took 1 1/2 hours and the doctor was very pleased with how it went.

So....I won't be coming to Texas this year. I will need to use my vacation time to help Marlee with Maddox. You can't even buckle Maddox into his car seat with 1 hand - it's too tight. My plan is to take 1/2 days of vacation maybe 3 times a week, but I still have to clear it with my bosses. They probably won't like it, but Marlee is pretty much an invalid for the next 12 weeks.

We're baaaaaack!

We are home from Galveston safe and sound. The weather was the pitts but the kids had the best time and that is all that matters. No incidences to report.

I had two firsts on the trip. 1- I threw up while I was running (the trash truck drove by and it really stunk) and 2-I ate 4 cheese manicotti as a bet and won! woo hoo!

The kids had so much fun playing on the beach and at the house collecting toads. Nervous Nana was on her toes making sure the kids did not go too deep in the ocean. Parker kept us informed of his body functions (in his usual LOUD voice!) Zach caught plenty of fish for the kids to play with. Sara, Kara, and Jodi enjoyed the scenes from lounge chairs. It was a great trip.

A Riddle For Everyone

I am fun to create, a reward that usually follows a good date.
I can make traveling a long matter, because I press on the bladder.
It is sometimes the pits, when I cause the opposite of a word that rhymes with Kitz.
I may keep you up all night wishing, that months ago you should have just gone fishing.
That last line was a joke, my brain out Jodi would poke.
I will be lucky number 7, a gift God has sent from heaven.
God answers prayers everyday, so pray that its a boy on the way.

Happy Birthday Pops!

We love you, Pops! Have an awesome birthday!

Avery started taking gymnastics and is loving it! This was her second class. I didn't take too many pictures because I was afraid of being a distraction. When I was snapping this one Avery said, "awww mom... my mom is taking pictures." Like she is already too cool for that. Sheeesh. (posted by Jodi)

baby bunnies

I found these babies while I was mowing. When we checked on them this morning, fire ants had killed three of them. Soren dug a new home for them away from the ant bed and we are waiting to see if the mother will find them. They are pretty cute!

Although most times it's obvious, you all really need to sign your blog posts so we know who posted what.

Thank you SO much to Pete and Sara, Soren and Reese for taking care of the kiddos and Roscoe while we were away. We had a good trip.

By the way, the picture below is posted by Mat.

Mat and Kara went to Austin for a couple of days and the cousins are having a great time hanging out in Burleson. They got here at lunch time yesterday and as soon as we finished eating we got out the slide. They played on it for about 3 hours, came in and played inside until dinner, and then we went to the pool. We came home at 8:30. We are getting rained on today, but we are hoping to go fishing when Parker gets up from his nap. Good times!

Happy Birthday America

Since we were traveling back from the Wyatt family lakehouse yesterday, today is my Happy Fourth post.

I will post pictures of our trip to my blog next week sometime.

For now, I saw this picture on a blog and laughed out loud.

(Post by Mat)

Thanks Mat!

Thank you, Mat for posting our family picture! I could not do it and thought that I would ask rather than take the time to figure it out.

Pops, Nana, Sara, Soren, and Reese had a nice trip to see GMF (Grandma Freda). Short and sweet. Thanks, pops for doing ALL of the driving! My girls slept in until after 9:00 this morning. I think all of this going has worn them out.

Fun in the Sun

What started out as a trip to the natatorium turned into a great day at the water park in Denton. Nana, Reese, Soren, Avery and I enjoyed some much needed sunshine. Here are a few pics.

Family picture

I wanted to add a picture to our profile, and dad had this one at the office, but I cannot figure our how to make it our profile picture. Someone do that for me.

Dirty Dog Blog

What is longer than it is tall, and grunts like a pig at night?

The Guerry's are gone to the lake,
but Rosco they did not take.
They swim in the water and play in the sun,
and left Rosco out of all the fun.
Revenge did Rosco seek,
believe me they will find out in week.
He conjured a plan in his brain,
and spread the neighbors trash all out in the rain.
He licks the carpet with his dragon breath,
ohhh he does not realize he flirts with death.
So wont all of you come over today,
for a weenie roast "whad do ya say?"

disclaimer: in the event that this in any way upsets Kara I am only joking, I would never eat Rosco and would strongly advise that if you plan to eat Rosco you contact your physician first.

Thanks Nana

I wanted to start by posting a thank you to Nana for going to Austin this weekend. She came with me and took care of the girls while I raced. We had a great trip. Here is an unrelated picture of Soren, Reese, and Avery from yesterday.

We had 2 great family meals yesterday, but we missed the guerrys and the smiths. And Debra, there was an empty spot where you should have been, too!

Here it is!

The Parker Blog! Although this was not a unanimous decision (kara), here is a blog where our family can post happenings and pictures. Feel free to post and comment and be sure to check the site often for updates!
